U.S. Figure Skating, NBC Conduct Second Major Site Visit

Kevin Leonardo, events manager; Ramsey Baker, senior director of marketing and communications; and Scottie Bibb, director of media and public relations; and NBC production, lighting and sound experts visited Greensboro from Monday, June 14 through Wednesday, June 16. The purpose of the site visit was to pin down numerous details at the competition, practice, and FanFest venues, as well as at the headquarters hotel, that will be essential to the successful operations and various broadcasts of the championships.
"
While there is still much work to be done for the championships, U.S. Figure Skating came away comfortable with the capabilities and capacity of our venues to host their premier event at the highest level," said Faryn Driscoll, director of operations for North Carolina 2011.
Participating in hosting the U.S. Figure Skating delegation were the Greensboro Coliseum Complex staff, Greensboro Sports Commission, Greensboro Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Greensboro Sheraton Hotel. North Carolina 2011 and U.S. Figure Skating are planning another site visit in August, and perhaps one more after that in preparation for the
97th U.S. Figure Skating Championships beginning Jan. 22, 2011. |
